Contemporary Dance at BYU prepares students to meet the challenges of a dynamic profession. Our goal is to guide and support students in becoming artists, educators and scholars. Central to our mission is a desire to encourage and hone individual student voice and creativity.
Students entering the ballet program at BYU will be instructed with a unique knowledge base that combines artistry, critical thinking, technical achievement and spirituality. Performing opportunities include Theatre Ballet and Ballet Showcase Company.
The World Dance program is the largest dance program of its kind in the United States and has been at BYU for over 55 years. It is the home to the International Folk Dance Ensemble and Living Legends performing groups.
Ballroom Dance students prepare for professional teaching, competition and performing careers. With an acclaimed medalist program providing regular adjudication by national and international judge and as an accredited dance major, the ballroom emphasis allows students to receive beginning through advanced training.
