Jocelyn Smith

Jocelyn Smith is a Utah Valley–based dance artist, educator, and the Artistic Director of Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company. She has danced in parades at Walt Disney World and performed a duet at the ACDA National Conference at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. She has also choreographed for Luz de las Naciones, the annual celebration of Latin American culture presented by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While directing and teaching for nearly a decade at Provo High School, Jocelyn developed a highly regarded dance program and mentored hundreds of emerging artists. She joined the faculty at Brigham Young University as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Fall 2025. She holds degrees in Dance Performance and Dance Education from Utah Valley University and earned her MFA in Dance from Montclair State University. Her creative work bridges artistry and humanity—she is known for crafting multi-sensory, interdisciplinary choreography that invites both performers and audiences to engage deeply, be fully present, and celebrate the richness of lived experience.
