Jaclyn Brown is a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor of Dance at Brigham Young University, where she teaches contemporary dance technique, improvisation, and choreography. Brown holds an MFA in Contemporary Performance and Choreography from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where her thesis "Dancing Through Matriarchy: Mothering Bodies and Their Threat to American Modern Dance" explored intersections of motherhood, embodiment, and performance. Her choreographic works have been presented nationally, including Resonate at the American College Dance Association North-Central Conference Gala and Matriarch, an evening-length concert commissioned by Repertory Dance Theatre through its Link Series. Recent commissions include works for Brigham Young University’s dancEnsemble, Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company, Creator’s Dance Project, and the RDT Heritage Project.

As a performer, Brown danced with Repertory Dance Theatre from 2014–2021, touring nationally and performing works by Doris Humphrey, José Limón, Molissa Fenley, Zvi Gotheiner, and Bebe Miller, among others. She continues to work as a freelance artist with companies including Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company, FEM Dance Company, and Creator’s Dance Project.

Her dedication to teaching extends beyond the university. She has served as a guest instructor at regional and national dance conferences, company teacher for Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company, and mentor for emerging choreographers through Movers + Makers. She has been recognized with the Extraordinary Artist Award (Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company, 2025) and multiple graduate fellowships and scholarships supporting her choreographic and scholarly work.

Through her teaching, research, and creative work, Brown seeks to inspire dancers to cultivate artistry, critical inquiry, and spiritual depth within their movement practices
