Founders and artistic directors Desmond Richardson and Dwight Rhoden, along with their New York City-based company of dance thoroughbreds, have given life to an exciting style of movement converging at the crossroads of athleticism, lyricism and technique.

“With a tradition steeped in ballet and contemporary dance, Complexions does, in a way, defy categorization,” said Jeffrey Martin producer of performing arts for the College of Fine Arts and Communications and presenter of the BRAVO! series. “This is not accidental and, in fact, has been a guiding force for founding artistic directors Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson as they have shaped their body of work and shepherded their company for more than twenty years.”

Complexions was founded in 1994 by Master Choreographer Dwight Rhoden and the legendary Desmond Richardson with a singular approach to reinventing dance through a groundbreaking mix of methods, styles and cultures. Today, Complexions represents one of the most recognized and respected performing arts brands in the World having presented an entirely new and exciting vision of human movement on 5-continents, over 20-countries, to over 20-million television viewers and to well over 300,000 people in live audiences.

This performance is sponsored by BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts at BYU, the university’s concert series that hosts world-renowned guest artists from across the globe. Additional support has generously been provided by the BYU Department of Dance.
