Reflections on Visiting China
I absolutely love China and am so grateful for the opportunity we had as Contemporary Dance Theatre to travel there and perform. Not only was the venue absolutely incredible, but the people we met were amazing. They were so friendly and welcomed all of us into their close circle of friends. Though we could not communicate very well because the language barrier, I felt a close connection to each of them through the universal language of smiles, love and laughter.
The students at Beijing Dance Academy as well as those at Tsinghua University are very talented dancers and I felt blessed to be in their company. I feel even more blessed to have been able to share our talents and passion. It was great to learn from one another and be exposed to different genres and styles of dance, especially those unique to the wonderful country of China. I anticipate the time when I can return to this beautiful country full of such wonderful, loving and welcoming people. Thank you for the memorable experience.
